Getting to know... Stuart Morrissey

When you are scoping an elaborate project that will require the management of traffic and pedestrians you need a man with a plan. Traffix Commercial Director Stuart Morrissey is that man.

Since joining our team in 2008 Stuart has been instrumental in the expansion of the business. Stuart began life at Traffix in our operations room and went on to assume the responsibility of Operations Manager. A further promotion soon followed which saw Stuart move seamlessly into the role of Project Manager for the Enterprise Gas/National Grid project. This key project stretched from Cheshire and Powys through to Gloucester and the West Midlands.

In 2015 the company created the role of Senior Estimator and it was Stuart that we turned to whose experience once again fitted the brief perfectly. This was repeated in April 2016 during at which time we were looking to appoint a Commercial Manager. In March 2017 Stuart assumed his current role as Commercial Director.

As Commercial Director Stuart works in close partnership with our clients at the pre-tender submission stage, a meticulous and methodical approach is vital when designing detailed layouts and producing estimates for complex projects. It is exactly this level of expertise and service that helps our customers to submit accurate tenders to their customers.

It could be said that prior to joining Traffix Stuart’s career had been colourful. From brief stints playing rugby in Florida to running a water ski school in Spain, Stuart eventually settled in Holland where for six years he worked in the flower export industry. Expansion of this business took him back to Florida and subsequently to New York over a further five years.

Away from work Stuart describes himself as the family taxi driver ferrying four children to numerous clubs and events. When time allows he likes to follow England’s Rugby Union team and Aston Villa FC.

Stuart commented... ‘I work with a like-minded management team, we’re a close-knit group who support each other 24/7, nothing is too much trouble. This attitude permeates through the DNA of Traffix and is attributable to why we are so successful in our field of expertise. Since I joined we’ve changed beyond recognition and as a team we are committed to our goal of further expansion.’
